Wedding Planning

A wedding that is not planned in an appropriate manner can easily run over budget, contain many problems with coordination and ruin a bride’s image of her perfect wedding. Wedding planning can take several forms, from hiring a professional wedding planner who handles every detail, hiring a day of wedding coordinator who helps with the coordination of events the day of the wedding or a do it yourself approach to wedding planning that requires the assistance of the bridal couple and perhaps a friend or family member. Regardless of the type of wedding planning that is employed, several considerations must be taken into account to plan for a wedding.

The budget is often the most important part of the wedding planning process. It dictates the options that are available for the bridal couple to choose from and limits the amount of funds that are available for various factors associated with the wedding. The couple must sit down and decide how much money that they are willing to spend on the wedding and who is willing to contribute funds to the wedding.  Who pays for the food, photographers, cars etc should be establisehd early to avoid stress.

The couple should also determine the wedding date. Summer is the most popular season for weddings, making it also the most expensive time for a wedding since vendor services and wedding venues are in high demand. A couple can decrease the expense of the wedding by choosing another season or having an afternoon event.

The couple should also determine the level of formality of the event. A formal event is more appropriate for a nighttime event and will likely require the use of a formal venue such as a ballroom. An informal event can take place in a backyard or local botanical garden.

The next step in planning the wedding is to determine the number of guests to invite. Each additional guest will cause the price of the event to rise. If many guests will be attending the event, the couple will likely need to rent a larger venue and hire professional vendors to decorate the venue and provide services. A lower guest count may allow the couple to outsource the work to family and friends.
